Lize-Lotte Pitlo holds a BFA in Dance Performance from her native country The Netherlands. She was selected to perform a solo at the Eurovision Young Dancers in Amsterdam and was a nominee for the Youth Top Talent Prize. Upon graduation she received a merit scholarship to study at the Merce Cunningham Studio in NYC. Pitlo then worked with Saeko Ichinohe Dance Company, Daniela Hoff Dance Company, Mana Kawamura /Kawamura the 3rd, and GREYZONE/Lindy Fines, performing in various festivals and venues such as Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, DanceNow Festival at Joe's Pub, Joyce SoHo, New York Live Arts, Triskelion Arts, The Flea Theater, and Studio 303 in Montreal.
Pitlo currently lives in Miami and continues working as a dance performer. She has also assisted in Contact Improvisation workshops led by Juan Maria Seller at the Escola Superior de Dança and at the Universidade de Motricidade Humana Lisboa. She is a teaching artist for Karen Peterson and Dancers’ Youth Arts Enrichment Program and for Very Special Arts of Florida, offering dance for children and adults with disabilities throughout Miami-Dade County Public Schools and community centers.
