SELECTED ARTISTS FOR FÅGELBO RESIDENCY DECEMBER 2018

Nikki Rollason & Chris Hausbeck

Chris Hausbeck is a self-taught artist making mechanical sculptures from found objects using hammer and fire.  His works can be found in museum and private collections worldwide, most notably, his kinetic sculptures which are anti-precision statements, laughing in the face of engineering.

Nikki Rollason, born and raised in Miami, Florida, received her BFA in dance at the New World School of the Arts and graduated from the Feldenkrais Institute’s Manhattan professional training program.  She has performed with the Isadora Duncan Dance Ensemble, Houlihan and Dancers and collaborated on projects with various artists including Joanne Barrett, Kristin O’Neal, Christina Pettersson, and Naomi Fisher.

Fågelbo Residency

is a collaborative residency, which aims to elevate as well as educate the performance art field of south Florida. It seeks to establish a much needed program platform for an underserved art field through an original residency opportunity. Collaborating artist teams will consist of a visual/interdisciplinary artist and a performing artist, applying together with a project proposal. We prefer if one of the applicants resides in south Florida but are open to artists applying nationally or internationally as well.

The residency is hosted by FATVillage Projects (the 517 Warehouse), giving selected artists space to work, time for research and a platform for exhibiting and performance opportunities.

Funding for this project is provided in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council

as well as the following Funds from the Community Foundation of Broward:

Fonda and H. Wayne Huizenga, Jr. Family Trust Fund, Gary J. Scotto Fund and Mary and Alex Mackenzie Community Impact Fund
